Virtual Classes

New Horizons Academy virtual classes are ideal for homeschool students or those looking to take classes not offered in their existing school. Our current classes are:

Algebra 1

Meets virtually every Tuesday and Thursday from 3-5pm central time

January 7 – April 24 

This class is limited to 4 participants

Algebra 1 is geared towards high school students who have not taken a previous Algebra class. During the first 2 weeks of January students will receive an additional 2 hours of one-on-one tutoring to review previous math concepts and ensure they are prepared for the course. During the course students should expect to have 1 hour of homework in addition to class time each week. 

Algebra class covers topics including signed numbers, exponents, and roots; absolute value; equations and inequalities; scientific notation; unit conversions; polynomials; graphs; factoring; quadratic equations; direct and inverse variations; exponential growth; statistics; and probability.

English Composition 1

Meets virtually every Monday and Wednesday from 3-5pm central time

January 7 – April 24 

This class is limited to 4 participants

English Composition 1 is geared towards middle school students who are native or extremely fluent in English. During the first 2 weeks of January students will receive an additional 2 hours of one-on-one tutoring to review English grammar and basics of composition and ensure the student is prepared for the course. During the course students should expect to have 2-3 hours of homework in addition to class time each week.
